On August 22, we welcomed a private group of very special guests from beyond our borders for an afternoon that was much more than a meal — it was a celebration of Portuguese culture told through flavors, wines, and stories.
The experience was beautifully enriched by two of our Kitchen4us partners:
Olga Cavaleiro, a researcher and historian of Portuguese gastronomy, who guided us through rich and emotional stories about the roots of each dish — reminding us that food carries memory, identity, and soul.
Catarina Meneses, a sommelière, carefully selected each wine pairing to elevate the flavors and harmonize with the stories on the plate — turning each sip into a sensory chapter of the afternoon.
Each course was thoughtfully prepared:
Starters: Special olives, Portuguese chouriço, guizzards with Biju bread
Main courses: Breaded codfish cheeks in garlic & olive oil, with mashed potatoes, Pork rib rice, full of depth and comfort
Desserts: Mini Queijadinha served with coffee and Pastel de Tentúgal from “Afonso Pastelaria” (from Tentúgal city).
The drink selection included a refreshing white Port Tonic to welcome guests, followed by carefully chosen white and red wines, and a glass of sparkling wine to finish the afternoon on a sparkling note.
As a final gesture, each guest received a beautifully crafted booklet by Catarina, detailing each wine served — its story, grape varieties, color, tasting notes, and technical aspects. A keepsake to extend the memory beyond the table.
At Kitchen4us, we believe that food is memory, paired with storytelling, and connection is the main ingredient!

“Flavours, stories and connections at the table! Participating in Kitchen4us was much more than just dinner — it was a real journey through flavours, stories and memories. Each dish was prepared with care and carried a special narrative, connecting us not only to Portuguese cuisine, but also to the people at the table. The atmosphere is welcoming and intimate, perfect for creating new connections and experiencing special moments. The attention to detail, from the welcome to the last glass of wine, made all the difference. I recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, cultural and emotional experience. It’s not just about food: it’s about sharing stories, smiles and discovering Portugal through flavours.” – Wilson Caldeira
